Agaricus blazei ~ is rich in the immunomodulating polysaccharides, β-glucans, and has been shown to have antitumor, anti-infection, and antiallergic/-asthmatic properties in mouse models, in addition to anti-inflammatory effects in inflammatory bowel disease patients. These effects are mediated through the mushroom's stimulation of innate immune cells, such as monocytes, NK cells, and dendritic cells, and the amelioration of a skewed Th1/Th2 balance and inflammation. • Maitake (Grifola frondosa) ~ The fruiting bodies of this mushroom contain polysaccharides, specifically a type called beta-glucans, which have been studied to support immune health and overall wellness, as well as normal, healthy cell growth and turnover. The fruiting body extracts we use contain these polysaccharides, without unnecessary fillers or starches. Maitake promotes cellular health for immune support by providing building blocks for metabolic activity; it also offers synergistic support for other Mushrooms. Multiple clinical trials have been conducted on Maitake extracts for support of immune function, healthy blood sugar metabolism, a healthy inflammatory response and antioxidant properties. Several species, long used in traditional herbalism, have been the subject of modern research for their ability to support the immune system. Gaiaherbs

Personal Recommendations

On a daily basis for immunity, I take a vitamin C, a zinc tablet, a Nikken Immunity [only 1 a day], and Nikken Lactoferrin. I drink a lot of filtered alkaline water. The lactoferrin and alkaline water will be mentioned below. Some of information may surprise you.

Does it work? I have not not had even a sniffle since the middle of 2019. Is that bragging? No, just a statement of fact. Will you get the same results? Don't know. It may be worth a try for you.

Lactoferrin, an iron-binding glycoprotein, is a cell-secreted mediator that bridges innate and adaptive immune function in mammals. It is a pleiotropic molecule that directly assists in the influence of presenting cells for the development of T-helper cell polarization. The aim of this review is to provide an overview of research regarding the role of lactoferrin in maintaining immune homeostasis, in particular as a mediator of immune responses to infectious assault, trauma and injury. These findings are critically relevant in the development of both prophylactic and therapeutic interventions in humans. Understanding these particular effects of lactoferrin will provide a logical framework for determining its role in health and disease.
